In 2025, book lovers will need accessories to enhance their reading experience. Read on to find out what is trending and must be on your wish list.

Book lovers know nothing beats the smell of old books in a library or a cozy corner with a good book and blanket. For bibliophiles new and advanced, this guide has what you need for ultimate convenience and comfort (and some of my favorite picks*). Whether on your wish list or looking for a gift, check out these must-have items.

Book Lover Digital Subscriptions

The love for a paperback never goes away, but digital reading is in the forefront for convenience.

Reading membership: Kindle Unlimited ($12/month**), Kobo Plus ($8/month e-books only), and Everand ($12/month) are the most popular e-reading services.

Audiobook membership: Audible Plus ($7.95/month), and Kobo Plus ($8/month audiobooks only) offers readers hands-free convenience.

Kobo Plus Read and Listen also has a combination plan for $10/month.

Reading Accessories for Your Wish List

Reading provides an escape from reality, and comfort is key to enjoying a good book.

Reading lights: There are as many kinds of lights as book genres. The best reading light is adaptable to your needs like the Vekkia 14 LED rechargeable light ($18), which has three different lighting levels and a wide or narrow illumination area.

E-reader holder: Use an e-reader hand strap, like the Strapsicle hand strap for Kindle, or a holder to prevent wrist fatigue and damage from dropping. I don't care to admit how many times I've dropped my phone on my face while reading in bed. My personal choice for holding my phone or e-reader in bed is one with a gooseneck mount and adjustable arm. I even have a clicker to turn my pages so I don't have to take my hands out from under the blankets.

Fun or Personalized Accessories for Book Lovers

Unique book-related accessories are another way to show off your love of books.

Themed socks: I am obsessed with socks and books, so finding a product that combined the two made my day. Conscious Step ($16) has cute styles for all ages and supports non-profits like Room to Read. Other cute favorites are from Socksmith ($10). One percent of every order is donated to a non-profit you choose.

Other fun items include literary-themed T-shirts, jewelry, plushies, and pillows featuring favorite characters, books, and quotes.

Tattoos featuring books, genres, or favorite characters are another trendy way to show off your affliction, I mean affection, for books.

Book Gift Sets and Collectables

Book sets and curated book selections: As a kid, I had almost a complete collection of Nancy Drew books, and I still like to read book series. I also like to give them to my kids as gifts. There is something about not having to say bye to book characters you've grown to know, and every genre has them. Parnassus First Editions is a must-have subscription for book collectors.
